Music
Music is an integral part of worship in church today and a great part of many lives. Music is an unspoken and sometimes unnoticed force that touches emotions, influences moods and brings people together. It is because of these attributes that musical worship is important in the church.
There are several music groups that rehearse and play for services at the three parishes:
All Saints Choir is a traditional robed choir. We currently have over 20 members who sing at most of the 10:30am Sunday services. The choir support the congregation in the singing of hymns, psalms and musical settings throughout the services. Quite often the choir will sing an anthem during the service, giving us the opportunity to learn and perform something a little more complex. We are not there to give a concert though, but to serve the church and enhance the worship. Choir practice is on Friday evenings at 6.30pm in church.

The Music Group generally leads the music for the 4th Sunday in each month. This service is the family service, whose more informal atmosphere lends itself to the more diverse styles of music played by the music group. We aim for a blend of traditional hymns with more contemporary songs, hymns and choruses. A wide range of instruments are in the group from violin to clarinet, guitar to piano. All are welcome to come along and join us. On the Friday evening before they play, the Music Group rehearses at 7.45pm.

The Brass Group play if there is a 5th Sunday in the month. Together with the choir and organ, the Brass Group helps to provide a wonderful 'Songs of Praise' atmosphere at services such as the 9 Lessons and Carols at Christmas. Like the other music groups there are no auditions, it's about coming along, taking part and having fun. More importantly, it's about helping to enhance worship. Practice times vary and are based around the services we play for.
